All MARTA fares must be purchased with a Breeze card or Breeze ticket. Breeze cards are $2 and may be reloaded for up to 3 years, whereas Breeze tickets are $1 for single-use only. MARTA fare is $2.50 for a one-way trip.
Buying & Using Breeze Cards & Tickets
1.- Breeze Card
A Breeze card costs $2.00 in addition to the fare.
You can purchase Breeze cards at Breeze vending machines located systemwide.
You can also visit a MARTA RideStore for fare information or face-to-face transactions.
Breeze cards are also available at breezecard.com. Once you register and sign into your account, follow the prompts to purchase a card. Breeze cards can take a week to arrive so if you have immediate travel plans, consider an in-person option.
2.- Breeze Ticket
Breeze tickets are paper tickets that expire 90 days from purchase and are not reloadable. The ticket cost is $1.00 in addition to the fare.
You can purchase Breeze tickets at Breeze vending machines located systemwide. Options include:
- One-way trip
- Round trip
- One-day ticket
- 1 to 8 Breeze tickets can be purchased at a time
Using Your Breeze Card or Ticket
Tap your Breeze card or ticket on the blue Breeze target located on faregates and fare boxes. The reader will let you know when you card is accepted and your remaining balance, if any.
3.- Breeze Mobile APP
The MARTA Breeze Mobile application is an innovative fare payment solution for everyone. It offers multiple payment options. You can purchase and validate tickets right from your smartphone. A QR code is generated for each single-use, granting access to the transit system.
Whether you’re a daily rider or an occasional traveler, Breeze Mobile makes paying your fare seamless and hassle-free.
With Breeze Mobile, paying your fare is as easy as tapping your phone. Hold your device over the contactless reader on the bus or at the station—no Breeze Card needed! It’s fast, convenient, and keeps you moving.
You may pre-purchase tickets for future use and activate each ticket as needed. You may also purchase a ticket at the time of travel, or if you have stored value, scan your QR code on your home screen to be automatically issued a single trip pay-as-you-go ticket.

- 1 day pass: $9.00
- 2 day pass: $14.00

What are transfers
Every Breeze Card and Ticket comes with up to four transfers. This means you can change bus routes or switch from bus to train (and vice versa) without paying again.
The way transfers work depends on your commute. If you’re moving from a train to a bus, you’ll have to tap your Breeze Card or Ticket at the gate. Make sure the screen mentions your transfer before exiting the station. Once you board the bus, tap the Breeze Card or Ticket again to use the transfer. And if you’re transferring from bus to train or from bus to bus, the driver of the bus you exit will have to apply the transfer to your card or ticket.
A few things to keep in mind:
-
- Transfers cannot be used for round-trip travel — meaning you can’t exit a route and board the same route again at a later time without purchasing another ride.
- You’re allowed up to four transfers within a three-hour period.
- Don’t leave a station or a bus without tapping your card on before exiting the bus or fare gate. Otherwise your transfers won’t load on your card.
- Transfers do not apply to the Atlanta Streetcar.
