John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) is a major international airport serving the New York metropolitan area.
It is located on the southwestern shore of Long Island, in Queens, New York City, bordering Jamaica Bay. It is the busiest of the seven airports in the New York airport system, the sixth-busiest airport in the United States, and the busiest international commercial airport in North America.
The airport, is the largest in the New York metropolitan area. Nearly 100 airlines operate from JFK Airport, with nonstop or direct flights to destinations on all six permanently inhabited continents.
JFK Airport is located in the Jamaica neighborhood of Queens, 16 miles (26 km) southeast of Midtown Manhattan. The airport features five passenger terminals and four runways.

Parking at John F. Kennedy International Airport JFK
Save money and secure your spot by reserving your parking at JFK Airport at least 3 hours in advance. Please arrive with plenty of time for your reserved parking space. You have a two-hour early entry permit.
If you plan to park at JFK for more than 30 days in any lot, when you arrive at the airport, you must register your vehicle with ABM Parking by calling +1 (718) 244-4168 or emailing ABM. Provide your name, license plate number, and estimated number of days you’ll be parked at the airport.
Any vehicle that does not register with ABM Parking and is parked more than 30 days will be considered abandoned and will be towed. The owner will be responsible for the retrieval costs.
Customers can pay for parking with credit or debit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express), E-ZPass, or contactless payments like Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay. To save time when leaving, use a credit or debit card at an Express Pay machine.
Parking spaces for customers with disabilities are available in every parking lot.
EV charging stations are available in some parking lots at JFK.
Charging time depends on the charger and your car.
- Level 2 chargers (ChargePoint) are located in the Terminal 5 Yellow Parking Lot. Charging is free, but you must pay to enter the parking lot.
- Level 3 chargers are in the West Cell Phone Lot (Revel & Evolve) and the JFK Travel Plaza (Tesla). These chargers require payment.
Premium Parking
Reserve a parking space to ensure you are closer to your terminal. There are dedicated premium spaces in each parking garage. Reservations must be made online.

- You can take AirTrain to the terminals from this lot.
- Vehicle height restrictions: 11’6″.
TERMINAL 4 BLUE LOT – FROM $6/half an hour – $80/day
- Prebook discounts also available in the adjacent Red Garage.
- Restricted-mobility parkers with a valid ADA placard or tag do not need to prebook.
- Vehicle height restriction: 6’4″.
TERMINAL 5 YELLOW LOT – FROM $6/half an hour – $74/day

- Level A (surface under garage): 8’2″
- Levels B and above: 7’6″
- Premium Parking (Level 5): 7’6″
TERMINAL 8 RED LOT – FROM $4/half an hour – $62/day

Get to and from JFK Airport easily with the AirTrain, subway connections, and Long Island Railroad (LIRR).
Licensed taxis are available outside each terminal at JFK. Flat-rate fares to Manhattan and other destinations are regulated for your convenience.
TAXI SERVICE
Taxi cab service is available at all airport terminals. Simply get in line and the dispatcher will direct you to the next available cab, no reservations needed. Wait times are updated in real-time throughout the day.
For your convenience, taxis from JFK to Manhattan have a flat rate of $70, plus tolls, tip, and $2.75-$8.50 in additional fees which vary by time of day and destinations. The meter and receipt will show this fixed price.

Ignore offers of transportation from solicitors in the terminal. Soliciting of ground transportation is illegal and many illegal solicitors are unlicensed and uninsured. For official help, please go to the Port Authority Welcome Center in the arrivals area of each terminal or to an official taxi stand.
You can request a wheelchair-accessible taxi through the apps like Curb or ARRO.
VAN AND SHUTTLE SERVICE
JFK partners with several trusted van and shuttle services.
If you have already booked your ride, go to the ground transportation area to find your driver. If you need to book a ride, contact one of the authorized providers or find an Airport Customer Experience Specialist (ACES) in a red uniform shirt at the Port Authority Information Center in the arrivals area to assist you.
Be careful of anyone not wearing an official uniform offering transportation or luggage help. They may be unlicensed, uninsured, or operating illegally. For official ground transportation information, please go to the Port Authority Information Center in the arrivals area of each terminal where official uniformed staff will be happy to help.

Lost and Found at John F. Kennedy International Airport JFK
For lost personal items in the airport including passports and other visa travel documents, submit a claim through the JFK virtual lost and found office.
