The Latvian national carrier airBaltic is the largest carrier that serves the airport, followed by Ryanair. The airport is located in the Mārupe Municipality west of Riga, approximately 10 km from its city centre.
The airport features a single, two-storey passenger terminal building which has been expanded and upgraded to modern standards several times in recent years.

Parking at Riga Airport RIX
The Riga Airport parking lots are located near the terminal. The furthest car park is approximately a 10-minute walk from the terminal.
You can get to and from the terminal by free shuttle from P3, P4 and P5. To request the service, call +371 20283380.

Riga Airport RIX transfers
TAXI SERVICE
Taxis authorized to operate at Riga Airport ensure service quality and transparent pricing. They are available for hire at the carriageway just outside the arrival halls. Presently, two licensed taxi brands, “XTaxi”, “TaksiLV and “Red Cab”,” serve the airport. All vehicles under these brands have consistent tariffs for trips from the airport to Riga city centre, which are displayed on the car doors.
It’s important to note that each taxi sets its own rates, with no fixed maximum limit. The tariff is typically displayed on the car door. Before hiring a taxi, ensure to inquire about the trip’s price!
For transportation to the center of Riga, you have the option to use pre-paid vouchers with taxi operators licensed to operate at Riga Airport, namely “XTaxi”, “TaxiLV”, “Red Cab”. These vouchers are applicable within a designated area, encompassing most hotels in Riga city center. The voucher is valid for one trip from Riga Airport to the city center without stops, for up to four passengers with luggage at any time of the day. The number of pieces of luggage is transported according to the capacity of the respective vehicle and in accordance with safety requirements.
The cost of the voucher is 33.50 euros. Vouchers are available for purchase at the airport’s Visitor Center in Arrival hall E.
You can call a taxi from Riga Airport using one of the mobile applications registered in Latvia, for example “Bolt”. When you call a taxi in the application, you will immediately see the price of the trip.
Bolt taxis pick up passengers at Riga Airport in a specially marked parking lot near the terminal exit in short-term parking lot P1.
PUBLIC BUS SERVICE
You can get to/from the Riga Airport to the city center by bus No. 22 (N22 between midnight and 4:30 a.m.). The bus stop for bus No. 22 to the city centre is located in the P1 car park in the middle between arrival exits E and C.
For the convenience of the passengers, only on bus No 22, you can buy a one-way ticket from the driver. Price per ticket – 1,81 EUR. This ticket can only be purchased with a bank payment card.
Other methods for purchasing public transport tickets include:
- On the mobile app’s of “Rīgas satiksme” (ANDROID APP – IPHONE APP), “Mobilly” and others.
- From the ticket machine at the bus stop or Narvesen shops in the airport terminal. You’ll find them by the exit from Arrivals Hall E (1st floor) and in the Check-in Hall (2nd floor).
Types of public transport tickets:
1) One-way ticket (only on bus 22). Price per ticket – 1,81 EUR. This ticket can only be purchased with a bank payment card.
2) Time ticket:
- 90-minutes ticket – 1.50 EUR
3) Day ticket:
- 24-hour ticket – 5 EUR
- 3-days ticket – 8 EUR
- 5-days ticket – 10 EUR
4) Monthly ticket
Monthly ticket for all modes of transport for all days of the month – 30 EUR.
